Welcome, my name is Rachel and I am the Center Director for Childrens Academy in Northfield, New Jersey. I was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, and I have always had a passion for caring for children. When I was younger, I would assist my mom when she was running her in-home daycare. After I graduated high school, I decided to accept a toddler teaching position. I was eventually promoted to assistant director of that pre-school.
About ten years ago, I moved to New Jersey to continue my education. While studying at Stockton University, I continued my work with children when I was hired to work in their preschool. I ultimately graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with a minor in Neuroscience from Stockton. After my graduation, I accepted a teaching position within the New Jersey public school system.
Although I loved teaching science, I am very excited to transition from a teaching role into an administrative role. As the Center Director, I want to continue to interact with the children on a regular basis. More importantly, I want to ensure that I make decisions with the goals of creating a positive and high-quality learning environment for the children and the staff members. Furthermore, I want to use my administrative and educational experience to train new leaders.
Outside of work, I really enjoy spending time with my husband (Ken), renovating our new house, refurbishing old furniture, and traveling with my family and friends. I look forward to welcoming you to our center and getting to know you and your family.
